Good hair, don’t care! The adage is a universal one and pretty much applies to any age group, no matter where on the planet. The newly opened CR Hair Salon & Academy not only accommodates its discerning clientele with professional on-trend services, but also a modern setting that befits its aim to claim a top position in the beauty landscape of Plovdiv, the second biggest city in Bulgaria. The salon, designed by Simple Architecture, an acclaimed architecture practice based in Sofia and Nice, occupies a 150 sqm. (1,615 sq.ft.) unit on the ground floor of a modern residential building in the city’s northern Karshiaka district. Since it’s a salon and training centre, the venue is divided into a hair salon, a practice area, and last but not least, a conference room. Large floor-to-ceiling windows framed in black granite allow in floods of daylight and reveal clean, understated, and most of all functional premises. The practice area sees ten workspaces, two wash basin chairs, a colour bar, and a back bar. All three zones are conceived as one big open space, and as such, they seamlessly connect with each other. CR Hair Salon & Academy‘s Zen-like understatement is further boosted by applying a warm and light earth-toned to all surfaces which also ties in all areas.
