Six years after inaugurating its first London store in Soho, an event we’ve covered in a previous post, cult Stockholm-based fragrance brand BYREDO is shifting gear, and has inaugurated a second retail space in the popular Covent Garden shopping district. The store occupies a rectangular ground floor space of a four-storey brick structure built in 1885, and measures 1,071 sq.ft. (approx. 100 sqm.). The interior design, created by the brand’s in-house design team, features a similar aesthetic as other BYREDO boutiques. A clean and understated backdrop, captured by a pristine white ceiling and walls, paired with flooring of large store tiles, sees timber fixtures and furnishings which are a firm nod to the brand’s Scandinavian roots. Upon entering the store, shoppers are greeted by a wall-mounted timber display cabinet and a sink crafted from large stone slabs, followed by a sturdy shelving unit laden with merchandise, and opposite, matching timber wall panelling. The back of the store sees additional timber furnishings and low aluminium and glass display cabinets, in addition to a small seating area.
