Since LVMH snapped up RIMOWA in 2019, the German luggage brand has tremendously raised its profile in the luxury sector, collaborating intensively with the group’s other illustrious entities. And now, to celebrate its 125th anniversary, RIMOWA has launched a travelling exhibition which showcases the brand’s legacy and style. Entitled SEIT 1898, or ‘since 1898’ in English, the show has been inaugurated at a venue in Tokyo. The exhibition entrance, captured by an all-white backdrop paired with logo carpeting in electric blue, has been designed to mimic an airport lounge. Inside, visitors will encounter differently themed settings presenting over 100 archive RIMOWA pieces that shed light its history, artistic partnerships, rare privately owned cases, collaborations with iconic brands, purpose-built items, and brand milestones (on through Jun 18). Click here to make a reservation. The SEIT 1898 will have only two next stops: New York City, and finally, RIMOWA‘s homebase Cologne.
