After opening up shop in Los Angeles in 2020, things were somewhat quiet on the retail front for Dries Van Noten. Well, that was yesterday. This Spring season, it’s full throttle for the Antwerp-based fashion house, as a new outpost has opened its doors Brussels a little while ago, and now, the newest retail space has been inaugurated in London. The store occupies 270 sqm. (2,906 sq.ft.) set across two floors of a listed, late-19th-century building in the Mayfair area which was previously home to Barclays Bank. The interior design, created in-house, sees a series of meticulously designed rooms which ooze swanky private boudoir, as each one sees a carefully balanced constellation of curated furnishings and art objects. The ground floor of the Dries Van Noten store is home to women’s apparel, accessories and beauty products. Embracing the building’s rich architectural heritage, the design creates an elegant yet contemporary atmosphere where fashion takes centre stage.

One floor below, in the basement, the setting is more cozy and intimate, and here, the men’s collection is presented. Adding a playful element to the store, while also being a nod to the British capital’s undeniable reputation as a cradle of pop music, is a vinyl corner with a handpicked selection of vintage and contemporary vinyl. The shopping experience is further elevated by a large number of carefully sourced design elements and artworks. A Labia chandelier by Bulgarian designer Vladimir Slavov serves as a sculptural focal point in the beauty corner, while a William Waterhouse artwork introduces a dynamic sense of movement with the collection. An extra-large Round Convex Mirror by Collier Web subtly with light and space. As for the art works that shoppers will encounter, include two lithographs by David Hockey, an etching by Man Ray, and Gilbert Jackson‘s painting Portrait of a Man. Mind you, in the course of this year, additional Dries Van Noten boutiques will open in Milan and New York City. © superfuture
