In a remarkable post-pandemic resurrection, Bangkok has not only emerged as Southeast Asia‘s top destination, but also the region’s leading hub of luxury lifestyle, and this week’s official opening of Aman Nai Lert only adds to this newly minted stature. Following the opening of urban resorts in New York City and Tokyo, luxury hospitality group Aman has landed in the Thai capital. Nestled in the lush green surrounds of Nai Lert Park, the property features just 52 suites and 34 branded residences, set across 36 floors of a newly built high-rise structure. Designed by Kuala Lumpur-based design practice Denniston, the interior design takes ample cues from its location, a family-owned green oasis, and on its premises, Nai Lert Park Heritage Home, built by legendary tycoon Phraya Bhakdi Noraset Lert Sreshthaputra a.k.a. Nai Lert (1872-1945), indeed, the name giver of the park. Providing a storied design foundation, combined with Aman’s unique sense of space, exclusivity and privacy, the property instantly raises the bar of refined hospitality in Bangkok

Unsurprisingly, the interior design is inspired by local art and features numerous bespoke pieces created in collaboration with Thai artists. A striking 12-metre-tall tree sculpture, inspired by Nai Lert Park’s century-old Chamchuri tree, rises through a triple atrium on the ninth floor, adorned with 6,000 leaves that transition from gold to black. The lobby features an installation of 3,000 spinning tops forming the Thai numeral one (๑), symbolising greatness which speaks to the aforementioned tycoon’s legacy, and in the 1872 bar, artisans from Chiang Mai carved a series of wood panels framing handcrafted leather clouds, evoking traditional Thai shadow puppetry. Beginning at 94 sqm. (1,012 sq.ft.), Aman Nai Lert‘s suites are among the biggest in the city, featuring an elegant design in a muted palette, and come with a large daybed, workspace and bathroom with oversized tub, rain shower and double vanity, separated from the bedroom by Aman‘s signature pivoting panel doors which allow customisation of the space.

Need more space? Well, the property’s two Signature Suites are even larger. The Terrace Suite, at 114 sqm. (1,227 sq.ft.) in size, has its own exclusive open-air lounge, while the Aman Suite, residential in style at a whopping 566 sqm. (6,092 sq.ft.), occupies the entire 18th floor. Needless to say, Aman Nai Lert boasts a number of top establishments on the premises where to wine and dine until the wee little hours. Perched on the ninth floor is Arva, an Italian family-style diner, serving dishes with a focus on local suppliers and seasonal ingredients. Adjacent sits the aforementioned 1872, a bar named after the birth year of tycoon Nai Lert. Next to drinks, it serves Thai cuisine made from local ingredients, in addition to Western fare. Also situated on this floor is The Pool bar on the same which serves drinks and light fare. Further up on the 19th floor, a dedicated space for Aman Club Founders , in-house guests and residence owners, this space introduces two new restaurant concepts from Aman providing an elevated Japanese dining experience to the city.

The first, Sesui, offers a sushi omakase experience by chef Satoshi Tsuru, while the second, Hiori, celebrates the Japanese art of teppanyaki. For those looking to unwind, there’s the Aman Lounge, a relaxing venue offering expertly crafted cocktails, a selection of rare vintage spirits, a menu of izakaya-style bar bites, and last but not least, sweeping views of the city. Indeed, the fun at Aman Nai Lert wouldn’t be complete with a full-fledged spa. Well, spread across no less than 1,500 sqm. (16,146 sq.ft.) and three floors is the aptly called Aman Spa & Wellness centre, which offers Medical Wellness by Hertitude Clinic, and a holistic Aman Spa, all-encompassing wellness programmes tailored to individual needs. Steam rooms, saunas, cold plunge pools and hydrotherapy facilities are accompanied by a state-of-the-art fitness centre alongside movement studios for yoga, pilates and personal training. © superfuture
