Since its inception in 1977, fashion and lifestyle brand Baycrew’s has been a fixture in Japan‘s retail landscape with multiple well-known shop concepts across Tokyo and in other main cities, such as JOURNAL STANDARD, Deuxième Classe and ÉDIFICE. As of late, the retailer has inaugurated SELECT by Baycrew’s, a brand new men’s and women’s multi-brand store at Toranomon Hills, a new mixed-use complex which opened one month prior to the bigger and slightly better known Azabudai Hills complex which is situated only a few blocks away. The SELECT by Baycrew’s store occupies no less than 2,600 sqm. (27,986 sq.ft.) spread across two floors of the soaring Station Tower at Toranomon Hills.

The store concept offers an elevated shopping experience which seems to combine the expertise of the aforementioned Baycrew’s select shops, but using a wider scope which additionally blends in lifestyle and art, culture, hobbies, and gastronomy, all curated by a team of industry experts. As such, the SELECT by Baycrew’s store features various shop-in-shops, each with a distinctly designed settings. So, what’s cookin’ at this new must-see shop? Quite a lot, actually. Next to various sections featuring tightly curated multi-brand men’s and women’s collections, the premises also see a number of special shops that spice up the shopping experience. There’s THENIME, a shop dedicated to women’s denim pieces and vintage denim items, in addition to a selection of assorted accessories and shoes.

Herringbone is a men’s and women’s shoe store, supervised by Hideyuki Kunii, creative director of mita sneakers, stocking a wide range of gender-neutral sneaker models. Circles is a well-known store from Nagoya which specialises in bikes, and it has opened its first outpost in Tokyo right here, presenting its unique product range which includes bikes, obviously, but also its SimWorks product range. Yes, there’s even art, and it’s brought by art cruise gallery. Creative director Osamo Ouchi of nano/nano graphics curates the rotating programme of artists and exhibitions. The Stand! is all about lifestyle items, whether young and whimsical or stylish, and adding an edge, is the in-store gourmet hotdog stand. Last but not least, there’s Rituel Toranomon, a stylish bistro offering a wide range of tasty French pastries, dishes and wines. © superfuture
