Hailing from California, artist Amir Zaki (1974) is best known for  for hybridized photographs using digital and analog technologies which explore the rhetoric of authenticity, vocabulary of documentary, and acts of looking and constructing images. As a place which effortlessly aligns itself with adventurous creatives, it isn’t surprising the artist has landed at The Slow for an exhibition entitled Flow Through Space. Opening Tue – Jun 16, the show anticipates current social distancing regulations and isn’t held at the property’s in-house gallery space, but outside at Canggu’s infamous shortcut, and as such, engaging with a bigger audience than ever before. On display alongside a short strip of road are 18 billboards which depict Zaki’s skatepark photographs. The photographs are eerily in sync with the current pandemic and capture scenes of empty skateparks across the Sunshine State. The show is also a collaborative effort with a string of local businesses as all billboards are owned by them.
