It may not be the Art Deco beaut as the South Beach original, but the newly opened Delano Dubai oozes a similar seaside sophistication with a debaucherous edge, and is set to create a storied history for itself. Situated on Bluewaters Island, one of Dubai‘s newest leisure zones, an existing property has been fully redeveloped. The Delano Dubai features 251 luxurious guest rooms and suites, and whether you opt for urban pleasures or pristine beach and seaside views, it truly sits front and centre of it all. The design of Delano Dubai is a collaborative effort of Athens-based practice Elastic Architects, SA Consultants, LaBottega Interiors, YDesign, and the in-house design team of hospitality company Ennismore. Inspired by the original Delano hotel, the new Dubai equivalent a discreet entrance framed by manicured greenery which evokes South Beach’s whimsical hedge, and guests are swept into the resort through a veil of white curtains that will be instantly familiar to regulars of the Florida property.

Geared towards effortless, discreet comfort, the rooms and suites come in a soft tonal palette, captured by rich textures and curved silhouettes. Needless to say, the settings see an infusion of natural materials, such as white oak flooring custom-made wool rugs and bouclé-clad sofas and chairs. The rooms offer all amenities today’s savvy traveller requires, and feature a balcony overlooking the resort’s lush gardens or views of the Persian Gulf. The suites are in a class of their own, and at a whopping 875 sqm. (9,418 sq.ft.), The Delano Suite tops them all. In fact, it’s a five-bedroom suite with living and dining spaces, in addition to two outdoor terraces with sweeping views. Needless to say, the plush interior design adds to the sense of understated luxury.

Known across the planet as the city of superlatives, Dubai offers a plethora of top-notch dining options, and Delano Dubai pitches in with a set of appealing venues of its own. With a setting inspired by the Amalfi Coast, the informal all-day Tutto Passa restaurant serves menu of coastal classics, alongside pizzas, salads and an exquisite raw bar selection. While you’re lounging outside on the premises and feel peckish, La Cantine Beach is readily available. For nocturnal fun, guests can indulge in Rose Bar‘s cocktail concoctions. Modelled after the renowned eponymous bar in the South Beach original, the all-red setting is intimate and sultry. Fine dining is offered by Maison Revka, which offers a refined menu which captures the region’s rich flavours, with dishes ranging from hearty smoked salmon to reimagined pavlovas, all served in a lavish setting which pairs the aesthetic of a Parisian townhouse and elements of French Riviera mansions. © superfuture
