After closing its previous downtown store a little while ago, DIESEL has opened a new retail space on Düsseldorf‘s Golden Mile of luxury shopping—Königsallee. Occupying a 201 sqm. (2,164 sq.ft.) unit spread over three floors on the premises of the KöCenter complex, the store features DIESEL‘s newest retail design codes as laid down by creative director Glenn Martens. The aesthetic is understated and industrial, featuring concrete walls and resin floors, and furnished with handcrafted metal furniture which aims to demonstrate the brand’s authenticity and innovation. Upon entering the ground floor, shoppers find themselves in a space which is also illuminated by an artistic ceiling installation. Here, DIESEL‘s bag collection, such as the iconic Diesel 1DR, Play and the Scrunch D-Bag, is presented on sleek metal shelving. Additional furnishings include display pedestals, and striking ‘demolished’ counters, all crafted from metal. The more spacious upper floor sees industrial metal shelves and a colourful wall display in DIESEL‘s iconic red hue which presents the current collections for women, men and accessories. © superfuture
