Siam Discovery is one of Bangkok‘s leading shopping destinations, and beside the obvious abundance of alluring offerings, the shopping centre keeps its young and savvy clientele mesmerised with an engaging programme of events. For its ongoing Future LAB series – mind you, this year it’s the fourth edition – the shopping centre aims to redefine the art and design scene, blending the Bangkok CI font a.k.a Sao Chingcha font, which reflects the Thai capital’s identity and is a true landmark, with hyper-personalised experiences. For the first time ever there’s a collaboration with the Bangkok metropolitan administration which has resulted in a groundbreaking art installation using the Bangkok CI font with a stunning 2.4 x 10-metre BKK typography font sculpture at the Pathumwan Skywalk.
The installation celebrates the fusion of the city’s heritage, while reflecting urban life and modern design at the same time, becoming a striking new landmark for both locals and overseas visitors. Called Future LAB Vol. 4 – Design Culture, this year’s edition allows Siam Discovery visitors not only to view art, but also the opportunity to imagine creating souvenirs in their own style, with cooperation and support from the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration along with top Thai brands like Yuedpao and ODS.
