The Swedish home market has always had a priority for Axel Arigato, and the recent opening of its first permanent standalome boutique in Stockholm bears witness to that. Situated at Biblioteksgatan, a busy pedestrian thoroughfare in the city’s popular Norrmalm shopping area, the store measures approx. 120 sqm. (1,292 sq.ft.), and sees a renewed collab between the brand’s co-founder Max Svärdh and Swedish architect Christian Halleröd. The interior design takes cues from the Axel Arigato store in London, a previous project of the duo, and which opened nearly three years ago. The setting is equally minimalist, but gains an interesting arctic edge, thanks to a distinct palette of materials and colours. Light blue marble is paired with a pristine white ceiling and walls, and form the backdrop for displays crafted from slabs of marble, each with unique characteristics and paired with pedestals of crushed glass. Additional furnishings and fixtures include floor-to-ceiling mirror shelves, and the ceiling is semi-concealed by a suspended aluminium grid with rows of tubular lights attached. Last but not least, the concrete floor is polished to the max, adding a subtle shimmer to the setting. The new Axel Arigato store carries the brand’s full range of men’s and women’s sneakers, apparel and accessories.
