Italian home appliance brand Smeg has once again teamed up with Italian fashion house Dolce & Gabbana to create a collection of nifty home appliances. The two iconic entities’ second collection, called Blu Mediterraneo, is inspired by the colours of the Mediterranean Sea, the aroma of freshly baked goods and a homely atmosphere. Crafted across Smeg‘s iconic breakfast and coffee sets, the collection comprises toasters, juicers and kettles with striking blue and white decorations. Effortlessly oozing the inimitable, playful Italian flair, each product is manufactured through an artistic decoration reproduction process based on an initial prototype painted with patterns rooted in the South of Italy by the expert hands of artisans.
The coffee set features an espresso coffee machine, coffee grinder and milk frother, all in a similarly vibrant style. The Blu Mediterraneo collection’s bright colours and iconic print blend seamlessly with characteristic Smeg rounded appliance silhouettes. The renewed Smeg x Dolce & Gabbana collaboration is a tribute to the strict values of Fatto a mano, or in plain English, exceptional craftsmanship. The new collection is created by Smeg with designs by acclaimed design duo Matteo Bazzicalupo and Raffaella Mangiarotti, and in collaboration with Dolce & Gabbana‘s Milan-based creative team. The new Blu Mediterraneo collection will be available to shop from selected retailers in Australia or online from Thu – Sep 26.
