Australian fashion brand Zimmermann has inaugurated a new second store in Paris, and this one is situated on rue du Faubourg St.-Honoré, one of the city’s most prestigious shopping arteries. The retail space occupies 288 sqm. (3,100 sq.ft.) spread over several floors of a traditional building with a sandstone façade, and features an interior design created by the brand’s in-house design team. Similar to its sister store on rue François 1er, the exterior was made lighter and more approachable by using metal windows, paired with cream fabric awnings and twisted iron arm brackets. This relaxed approach extends indoors where shoppers find elegant yet homey settings with a playful touch. The premises are dotted with a string of furniture and fixtures crafted from repurposed materials and discerningly sourced vintage pieces, such as Daniel Elm armchairs, Art Deco side tables, and a rare 1970s circular wood and glass table from Nerone e Patuzzi.

The attention for detail makes visiting the fitting rooms a luxurious retreat, featuring striped silk fabric and tented ceilings. One floor up, galvanised metallic and glass doors separate the collections on display, anchored with a vast red vintage lacquered Chinese coromandel screen, converted as a wardrobe. Furnishings include freestanding chrome wardrobes, mid-century armchairs, lounge and cub chairs and modernist display tables for collection, separates and accessories. The interior design has a distinct Australian edge as Zimmermann commissioned Melbourne-based artist Alistair McLuckie to create a mural to adorn the staircase. Additional interior highlights include bespoke striped Kilim rugs, modernist vases by Nelly Yassef and Herman August Kähler, and Phillippe Barbier table lamps. The new Zimmermann store carries the brand’s full range of apparel, accessories, shoes, jewellery and swimwear.
