Stone Island has landed in Tokyo for an elaborate and unprecedented showcase. The Milan-based outerwear brand, renowned for its development and use of innovative materials and experimental dyes, has brought along a selection of key pieces from its vast archive and puts it on display at BA-TSU Art Gallery in Harajuku. Aptly entitled Stone Island Selected Works – An Archival Exhibition, the exhibition sees a wide range of accumulated and carefully preserved pieces since the company was founded in 1982. For Stone Island”s sizeable local fanbase this is an exceptional chance to see an important variety of its archival pieces, which have never exhibited in the Land of the Rising Sun, up close. The showcase, presented in a specially designed scenography, includes items from the first collection and a Prototype Research Series that demonstrates the very latest technology (on through Oct 6).
