Since its foundation in 2002, Incu has come a long way. Founded by fraternal duo Brian and Vincent Wu, the retail company has grown from a single multibrand store in Sydney, to a total of seven retail spaces at key locations in Sydney, Melbourne and the Gold Coast, in addition to an A.P.C. boutique and two rag & bone stores. Previously headquartered in Sydney‘s leafy Surry Hills neighbourhood, the company has recently relocated its offices further out to Rosebery, a suburb close to Sydney Airport. The company purchased an elongated plot alongside Dunning Avenue which was previously occupied by a large warehouse, demolished the building, and commissioned local architecture practice and longtime collaborator Akin Atelier to create an entirely new building which would not only house its headquarters, but also Incu‘s new outlet store. The retail space can certainly be interpreted as an upscaled alternative for the retailer’s otherwise popular annual warehouse sale at different locations across town. Similar to Incu‘s other retail spaces, the aesthetic of the outlet store is clean and understated yet captured by a palette of warm colours and raw natural materials, such as timber and ceramic tiles. The new outlet store carries both men’s and women’s apparel, bags, footwear, and accessory collections from Incu‘s extensive range of brands, including A.P.C., rag & bone, Saturdays NYC, Acne Studios, Comme des Garçons and Maison Kitsuné.
