Keeping abreast with its increasing global popularity, JACQUEMUS is opening standalone stores at an accelerated pace. Following home base Paris, Dubai and New York City, a new retail space officially opens its doors today in London. Creative director Simon Porte Jacquemus has secured a 332 sqm. (3,574 sq.ft.) space set across four floors of a Victorian-style building with an ornate Portland stone façade – mind you, it comes with a impressive frieze by artist Alexander Stoddart – on swanky New Bond Street, rubbing shoulders with boutiques of leading luxury brands such as Zegna, Pomellato, BALENCIAGA, Gucci and CELINE. The interior design, once again created by acclaimed Dutch architecture practice OMA, is infused with cues from soothing life in sunny Provence, the region in the South of France where Porte Jacquemus has his roots.

Similar to the store in the Big Apple, pristine off-white stuccoed walls and ceilings form the backdrop for various snug settings. Flooring comprises of stone tiles, overlaid here and there with subtle earth-coloured carpets. The JACQUEMUS store is set up like a Mediterranean home with cozy nooks and welcoming seating areas on every floor. A grand staircase, adorned with a playful ironwork railing connects all floors, all the the way to the fourth floor where a V.I.P. lounge can be found. Further boosting the sense of home, albeit an exceptionally plush one, is a rotating selection of artworks across the retail space which are either part of Porte Jacquemus’ private collection or on loan. The new JACQUEMUS store carries the full range of women’s and men’s apparel, accessories, bags, shoes, small leather goods and eyewear. © superfuture
