Following last year’s opening of a flagship store at home base Vancouver, an event we covered in a previous post, Herschel Supply further raises its profile in the American market with a flagship store in New York City‘s coveted Soho district. Here, the luggage and accessories brand has secured a 5,000 sq.ft. (approx. 465 sqm.) unit on the ground floor of a historic ten-storey building erected in 1903, and features an interior design by Herschel Supply‘s in-house design team. The chosen aesthetic of the lofty space pays homage to its Canadian roots, and as such, it sees an infusion of western red cedar, captured by wall cladding, furnishings and custom-designed sculptures, in addition to granite boulders which collectively reference its ‘from the coast’ theme.
The aforementioned art works are paired with large-sized photographs of lensman and longtime collaborator Stephen Wilde, which further elevate the shopping experience. Concrete flooring and exposed brick walls form the backdrop of various furnishings, fixtures and decorative panels, and last but not least, the store’s sales counter clad in glazed bricks. The new Herschel Supply flagship store carries presents the largest selection of the brand’s classic products at the Broadway entrance, while the Mercer Street entrance showcases the Herschel Supply Studio Collection, an elevated line from the brand’s design studio. Additionally, the Herschel Supply Uniform line is also available, as well as their popular range of travel options including luggage, duffles, and accessories.
