As one of Tokyo‘s leading department stores, many a luxury brand vies for a presence at Matsuya Ginza, and Officine Universelle Buly is no exception. The French olfactory brand, which already has a strong presence in the Japanese capital and elsewhere in the country, has very recently opened a shop-in-shop on the premises. Situated on the ground floor, the retail space has been designed by co-founder Ramdane Touhami and Officine Universelle Buly‘s affiliated Paris-based design practice. The chosen aesthetic, captured by furnishings and fixtures dipped in a moss green hue, is inspired by typical greenhouses that could be found in French suburbia throughout the 1950s and 1960s. The walls and an a support pillar are lined by tiered shelving and cabinets, all crafted from metal and some aptly encased in glass. There’s also a separate display which features the brand’s elaborate range of grooming utensils. The shop-in-shop is lit by faux skylights embedded in the store design while additional lighting is also provided by suspended light bulbs and lights incorporated in the shelving. The new Officine Universelle Buly shop-in-shop carries the brand’s fragrances, beauty products and grooming utensils.
