Every self-discerning designer or brand aims to make a splash at this year’s edition of the Salone del Mobile in Milan, especially a hiatus of two long years, and Louis Vuitton is no exception. Celebrating a decade of its coveted Objets Nomades collection of furniture and objects, the luxury behemoth launches today a specially designed exhibition space in the iconic Garage Traversi in the Duomo district, presenting five brand new Objets Nomades designs by atelier oï from Switzerland, Fernando and Humberto Campana from São Paulo, and London-based Raw Edges, in addition to a wide selection of other pieces from the collection, created by fourteen designers over the past decade. Spread across two floors of the building, originally an innovative garage planned by Giuseppe De Min in 1939, the showcase reveals the full breadth of invention, imagination and savoir-faire in the Objets Nomades collection.

Among the pieces on show are six Objets making their European debuts: Frank Chou’s flowing Signature sofa and armchair; the Campana Brothers’ brightly coloured Aguacate wall hanging and playful Merengue seat; Marcel Wanders’ startlingly beautiful Petal Chair; and Louis Vuitton design studio’s elegant Muranoglass Totem Lumineux. And that’s not all. During the Salone del Mobile, Louis Vuitton will also continue its nowestablished exhibition of nomadic architecture. For 2022, it’s bringing the portable Nova House by Studio Rochel to Piazza San Babila. Designed in 1972 by architects Michel Hudrisier and M. Roma for Studio Rochel, the Nova House is a striking ovoid living pod with a steel frame covered with 180 made-to-measure aluminium-alloy strips. The 45 sqm. structure comprises two bedrooms, a living room, kitchen and bathroom and will be on display during the Salone del Mobile only.
