Louis Vuitton‘s much anticipated second LV² men’s collection debuted in Japan today ahead of all other depositories, and where else but at the Louis Vuitton men’s boutique in Tokyo. In celebration of the release, the store once again sees a bold transformation of both the façade and its interior. The façade’s Damier pattern of twisted metal and glass and the window display next to the entrance now feature a dragon, a motif that also appears throughout the collection. The dragon head in the window bears the initials ‘A’ and ‘N’, referencing men’s creative director Virgil Abloh and Nigo, guest collaborator and cult icon and founder of streetwear brand Human Made. A bold purple, emblazoned with Louis Vuitton monograms, and a tiger form the backdrop of red displays laden with trophies. Mind you, in 2019 Abloh released a limited edition set of nine high-top sneakers which represented nine global cities, and purple happened to be allocated to the Japanese capital. The second floor also boasts a full makeover which ties in with the aesthetic downstairs, but here, the emblazoned purple is only reserved for the floor whereas the walls are covered in Louis Vuitton‘s iconic Damier pattern, but in bight red and with matching displays, but curved as if to mimic a tiger’s tail. Oh, the dragon appears here too, in cartoon-style on the walls. The revamped Louis Vuitton store carries the full range of the LV² collection.
