The European roll-out of Lynk & Co is in full swing. Following outposts in Amsterdam, homebase Gothenburg and Antwerp, and a pop-up venue in Hamburg, and shortly, also one in Munich, the electric car membership club arguably has made its boldest move to date, opening a new club in Berlin, the capital of the Old Continent‘s undisputed car-manufacturing powerhouse Germany. The new Lynk & Co club has nestled on two lower floors of a listed residential building with an ornate brick façade, erected in the late 19th-century by architects Poentsch & Bohnstedt. Similarly to the other clubs, it taps into the forward lifestyle and mindset of today’s savvy consumer, abandoning traditional car ownership, in addition to the sale rituals that precede it, and offer a concept with highly flexible mode of private transportation with nifty fringe benefits instead. The interior design sees a renewed collaboration with Amsterdam-based design practice S-P-A-C-E Projects.

Given the building’s listed status, this has resulted in a series of eclectic settings which retain its original architectural features, but mixed and matched with playful modern interventions. This is arguably best demonstrated by the so-called Mirror Room, a meeting room encased in mirrors to highlight the heritage details and monumental character of the existing room, and the venue’s retail space which is lined in bands of voluminous padding. The new Lynk & Co club is a meeting space for members and aspiring members, accommodating both with event spaces, flexible lounge areas, a coffee bar, and as said, a shop stocked with a rotational selection of brands that share the company’s values of sustainability, creativity, and community, and the current list includes local German brands such as On Vacation, Otherware, GOT BAG, and Egal. Needless to say, Lynk & Co‘s core product, the 01 car, is prominently on display on the premises and can also be taken for a test drive.
