If the first drop of Virgil Abloh and Nigo‘s LV² collab collection didn’t make enough of a wave, the second drop certainly will with its more elaborate range of trophies. Following the opening of a dedicated Louis Vuitton men’s boutique in Tokyo in July of this year, the luxury brand’s pop-up store in New York City‘s Soho neighbourhood has reopened with a similar aesthetic. Situated on the ground floor of a red brick structure built in 1900, the classic wooden façade with its Corinthian columns and large windows now sees a bold drip motif in bright yellow and an interior dipped entirely in the very same hue, including all store furnishings, fixtures, and most of the specially made props. Striking exceptions are the LV Made duck in the window and a large turtle rug which boldly references the rugs that Nigo designed for his streetwear brand Human Made. The LV² pop-up store carries the brand’s full range of coveted men’s apparel, accessories, shoes, bags, small leather goods, jewellery pieces and eyewear, and will remain open mid-October.
