Following retail spaces in Jakarta, Bandung and Surabaya, three of Indonesia‘s largest cities, Onitsuka Tiger shifts its focus back to the capital city to open its first premium store in the vast archipelago. The boutique, situated at the upscale Plaza Indonesia mall in the city’s leafy Menteng neighbourhood, occupies a 125 sm. (1,346 sq.ft.) corner unit on the second floor and features an interior design by the brand’s in-house design team. The latticed wood which covers the façade of the boutique extends inside, offering a contrasting element to the polished marble flooring and steel shelving and suspended clothing racks. Additional furnishings comprise of a metal display, and benches with tufted leather in a bright pink hue. The new Onitsuka Tiger store carries the brand’s S/S 2020 Collection designed by creative director Andrea Pompilio. This newest collection pays homage to founder Kihachiro Onitsuka (1918-2007) as the company celebrates its 70th anniversary this year, taking cues from uniforms of various sports. Additionally, the store also features items from the exclusive Nippon Made collection.
