Dutch lawyer-turned-lensman Richard Koek (1965) has a thing with New York City, and captures his ongoing fascination for its urban landscape and the eclectic lifestyles of its dwellers in compelling photographs. Following the presentation of his new book New York New York in the Big Apple, Koek lands an eponymous show at Eduard Planting gallery in Amsterdam. The show opens Sat – May 5 and presents a series of new photographs that emanate his love of New York City’s urban landscape and the eclectic lifestyles of its dwellers. The series demonstrate Koek’s sensibility to the city, and each picture offers viewers a compelling and unique narrative. Koek lives in New York City and Amsterdam, and works for various publications, companies and non-profit organisations.
