Following stores in the Central Business District and Armadale, Acne Studios raises its profile further in Melbourne‘s metropolitan area with a third retail space. Situated at Chadstone shopping centre, the Swedish brand has secured a moderate-sized yet lofty ground floor unit, wedged in between the Hugo Boss and the Zimmerman boutiques. Although there are a large number of peers from fashion’s upper echelon, the bold soft pink façade makes the Acne Studios store effortlessly stands out. The interior design, a collaboration between creative director Jonny Johansson and Stockholm-based architect Christian Halleröd, is in line with the brand’s newest retail design codes. Understated and clean, it’s the minutely designed details that carry the space, lending it a contemporary grandeur. Furnishings and fixtures comprise sleek steel clothing racks lining the walls, paired with matching shelving and a large display table. A cubic volume in the back, dipped in pink and covered entirely on one side by a mirror, houses two fitting rooms with silvery doors. The ceiling sees a configuration of rectangular light fixtures by Benoît Lalloz, another longtime collaborator of the brand. The new Acne Studios store carries the full men’s and women’s collection, in addition to denim items.

Publishers Note
Just to be clear – superfuture® is a design blog and not a political commentator. No surprise there. The scope of our content has always been global and borderless, however that can often mean covering projects in countries where we will not agree with the politics or actions of those countries. In a world that’s as screwed up as ever right now, the focus of our support is to those designers, architects and other creatives who aim to make the world a more liveable one – as opposed to people that try their hardest to destroy it. So if a project hits our desk and we like it based on its design credentials, we may choose to publish regardless of its location or creators nationality. superfuture® has always been inclusive and hopes for all current wars, aggression, violence, hate and extremism to end.
