Japanese retailer BEAMS is a revered name on home turf and at a few spots across Asia with a flurry of different store concepts, but it has yet to gain a fanbase elsewhere. Well, BEAMS has now shifted gear, collaborating with Nordstrom on Concept 007 BEAMS, a pop-up store concept which has been set up at eight of the latter’s main department stores in the U.S. and Canada. Presented in specially designed settings which bear the hallmarks of the Japanese brand, the Concept 007 BEAMS shop-in-shops are stocked with an all-encompassing range of merchandise, including gifts ranging from colourful knitwear to sake sets, home goods, BEAMS mainline product range, including BEAMS, BEAMS JAPAN, BEAMS+ and BEAMS T, as well as a slew of brand collaborations with Japanese artists and designers such as Diaspora Skateboards, Flagstuff, Yusuke Hanai, Koji Yamaguchi, Teätora and Sasquatchfabrix. Additionally, a range of collaboration items with American brands such as Brooks Brothers, New Balance and Polo Ralph Lauren are presented, all masterfully tweaked from a Japanese perspective (open through Jan 5).
