Having first opened its doors in 2009, the Diptyque store on New York City‘s swanky Madison Avenue has since become a fixture for many shoppers on the Upper East Side. And now, just before the holiday season is to kick off, the retail space has been fully revamped, oozing even more Euro-flavoured sophistication. At 2,100 sq.ft. (195 sqm.) spread over two floors, it’s the largest Diptyque store stateside, and as such, the fragrance house has pulled out all the stops to wow its savvy and well-heeled clientele. Designed by Diptyque‘s Paris-based in-house design team in collaboration with Bryce Bianconi of Paris-based design practice Studio Vitrail, the premises takes ample cues from the city’s architectural landmarks, such as the magnificent Grand Central Terminal and Old City Hall, but also from Diptyque‘s first boutique in the French capital. Although inspired by landmark venues, the premises have the feel of a private apartment, and highlights include stained glass adorning the space’s upper walls, artwork by French-American artist duo Redfield & Dattner and a striking chandelier by acclaimed designer Kelly Wearstler. The revamped Diptyque store stocks the brand’s full range of scented candles, home scents, perfumes, bath and body products, and home decor products.
