Founded in 1990 by designer Christophe Lemaire, his namesake brand Lemaire has since gone leaps and bounds, gaining growing global following with classic yet understated men’s and women’s silhouettes. At home base Paris, the brand has had a flagship boutique in the Marais district for the past 25 years, and now, a second outpost has opened its doors just a few blocks south on place des Vosges, an elegant square lined with arched buildings erected in Louis XIII-style. Occupying a modest ground floor unit behind two of those large arches, the store features a matching sobre interior design by Francesca Torzo, an Italian architect based in Genoa. The setting, captured by a subdued palette of terracotta, Marmorino and lacquered elements in beige and off-white, sees irregularly tiered display surfaces along the entire breadth of the store, adding tremendous depth and and visual layering to the compact space. The new Lemaire store exclusively stocks the brand’s wide range of men’s and women’s bags, shoes, small leather goods, jewellery pieces and other accessories.
