Café society is booming in major cities across the planet, and Tehran is no exception. Situated right on Midan Arjantin, a bustling roundabout in the leafy Saei Park area of town, fast-growing coffee parlour chain J. Café has opened its third outpost in the sprawling Iranian capital. The café occupies no less than 350 sqm. (3,767 sq.ft.) spread across two levels of an entirely redeveloped section of an existing building. The interior design, created by Tehran-based Kanisavaran Architectural Group, sees the building’s porticoes used as additional seating space, and as such, connecting them with the indoor area. Framed and dipped in a pristine white hue, it signals the venue’s understated design codes from afar.

Inside, visitors find a light-filled space with varying heights which is home to several seating arrangements in a lounge-style setting, including more intimate nooks at its core, and also seating on an upper floor. Additionally, a bar, kitchen, bakery, and even an art store can be found here. Given the fact that the space has been entirely redeveloped, the design of J. Café sees a layering of interventions which aim to interactive and social spaces. As such, the ground floor seating arrangements include a large communal table with seating. As its name already implies, J. Café is first and foremost a coffee parlour, serving a slew of freshly made concoctions, but it’s one with a slew of additional pastries, cakes and sandwiches. © superfuture
