Following the first opening in Milan last December, Nike officially inaugurates a second basketball-focused Jordan World of Flight retail concept today in Tokyo. The store occupies 9,200 sq.ft. (approx. 855 sqm.) spread across three floors of the Jingumae Media Square Building, a nine-storey structure from the late 1990s, situated alongside Meiji dori, one of the Harajuku shopping district’s main thoroughfares. Designed by Nike‘s in-house design team, the retail space offers basketball enthusiasts new offerings and experiences in enticing settings which extend to the online domain. As such, the Jordan World of Flight has a dedicated SNKRS area for shoppers to pick up their wins from the Nike app, while The Flight Lounge offers an in-store space for members to sit back and connect over compelling Nike Jordan brand history and basketball culture.

At the so-called Content Studio, the first of its kind for the Nike Jordan brand, shoppers can use the space to film unboxings and reviews, and create content to share through their social media channels of choice. Additionally, Nike commissioned a string of Japanese artists to present their work across the premises. Japanese graphic designer and Jordan enthusiast Katsu added a special edge to The Flight Lounge, lending items from his personal collection of Jordan artifacts to decorate the entire space. The new Jordan World of Flight store stocks men’s, women’s and kids’ Jordan footwear and apparel, including a range of customisable products in The Workshop where guidance and educational tutorials are given on shoe lacing, care and preservation.
