Hedi Slimane once again demonstrates his stature as cultural visionary having recently teamed up with film directors Will Lovelace and Dylan Southern for a documentary that’s entitled Meet Me in the Bathroom. Based on the eponymous book from Lizzy Goodman, it encompasses a series of still-life images shot by Celine‘s creative director during the book’s eponymous era of rock n’ roll revival between the years of 2001 and 2011 into a limited release concert poster to celebrate the film’s upcoming premiere events in New York City and Los Angeles. The film features legendary bands such as The Moldy Peaches, The Strokes, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, LCD Soundsystem and many others as it covers their come up amongst the backdrop of Lower East Side dive bars and gritty city streets.

Slimane became synonymous with this era while at the helm of Dior Homme and dressing rock musicians such as The Strokes, The Libertines, Franz Ferdinand and The Killers. Slimane’s intimate relationship with music has remained a creative force in his work as he continues to set the tone for a relationship between fashion and underground musical talent. The upcoming premiere events, on Thu – Oct 27 at The Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles and on Sun – Oct 30 at Webster Hall in New York City, will feature a special screening of the documentary with a special guest panel Q&A and the first-ever reunion performance by The Moldy Peaches with additional surprise performances. The documentary will be officially released the following weekend in both cities, and in the week of Nov 11 it’s followed by screenings in select theatres nationwide.
