In fashion’s upper echelon, a global presence is pretty much required, and forte_forte is on its way to get there. Founded almost two decades ago in Northern Italy, a majority stake of the womenswear brand was snapped up by Milan-based private equity firm Style Capital in 2o17, and now it’s on a roll. Following prestigious store openings in Paris, London and Tokyo, three of the planet’s fashion capitals, and as of late, Madrid has also become home to forte_forte‘s newest outpost. It occupies a 280 sqm. (1,292 sq.ft.) on the two lower floors of a smodern building in Salamanca, an exclusive shopping zone where all top luxury brands converge in the Spanish capital. Designed by the brand’s creative director Giada Forte and art director Robert Vattilana, the aesthetics are similar to the previously opened stores – well, apart from the one in London – albeit loosely adapted to the specific location.

Its corner location comes with no less than seven windows which allow plenty of daylight in. A chunky, sculptural central pillar is the focal point of the setting, and where it connects with the ceiling, it opens a bundle of rays across the ceiling. The backdrop is a wall featuring matching abstract relief wall, brass-encased fitting rooms, stone tile flooring, and last but not least, a staircase dipped in a soft pink hue. Furnishings include a semi-circular low bench with white leather cushions, a green marble sales counter and brass wires that serve as clothing racks. Adding further homey, if not arty, touches to the store are paintings by designer and artist Laurie Maun, Kalou Dubus‘  sculptures, and ceramics by Ettore Sottsass for Bitossi. The new forte_forte store carries the brand’s full range of apparel, accessories and shoes.
