The mystified cult of fashion is currently demonstrated by Loewe. Rising from near oblivion by the magical tweaks of its designer Jonathan Anderson, the brand has regained the limelight, and while doing so, it has also cleverly accelerated its presence in the global retail arena. Following the opening of flagship stores in London, Tokyo and Beijing, the Spanish luxury brand’s latest outpost has opened in New York City. Situated in the upscale Soho shopping district, the so-called Casa Loewe occupies the lower two floors of a red brick structure built in 1900. Just as the previously opened flagships, this one is designed by Anderson himself as a cultured private apartment, featuring two floors of beautifully appointed and snug settings. The premises have been stripped and redesigned, and now feature neutral stuccoed walls and timber flooring as a backdrop for simple fixtures and a myriad of furnishings, all handpicked by renowned Belgian interior designer Axel Vervoordt, in addition to an eclectic range of art works by various artists which Anderson curated himself. The new Casa Loewe carries the brand’s full range of women’s and men’s apparel, accessories, and bags.
