Selfridges is pairing the magic of shopping with that of the big screen, and quite literally so. The iconic department store on Oxford Street in London has teamed up with independent boutique cinemas Olympic Studios, opening an actual cinema on the premises. Officially called The Cinema at Selfridges, it has both an entrance at the heart of the store on its lower-ground floor and direct access from the street to allow customers to come in and out regardless of the department store’s operating hours. Showing the biggest blockbusters along with classic cinema and independent films across our three screens, complete with state-of-art Dolby Atmos surround sound and laser projection technology, the cinematic fun comes with here other perks. The food menu at The Cinema at Selfridges is quite extensive and caters to all tastes, including a wide vegan offering. All food and drink is served from the cinema’s own informal restaurant, with à la carte available to eat only in the restaurant bar while a full silent snack selection is available for purchase to eat within the screening rooms. Alcohol, mocktails and soft drinks are all available from the main bar or the cinema’s tuck shop drinks corner.
