There’s never a dull moment at Siam Discovery for Bangkok‘s discerning shopper, and the department store’s latest showcase pulls sneaker heads from far and wide to its doorstep. The event, entitled Future Lab Vol. 1 Sneakers, kicks off the themed Future Lab series which elaborates on fashion and lifestyle-related trends. Needless to say, the current edition is all about the ongoing sneaker craze which has gained new momentum. Concepted as an experimental co-creation space which aims to entice the aforementioned demographic with new creations, it’s divided into two distinct areas. The 100 Exhibition curated by Thai online magazine Soul4Street which featured the most coveted sneakers. Mind you, this sale showcase sold out at the blink of an eye after the opening. The other side is called Hyper Personalized, and here, sneaker customisation is offered by renowned artists such as Auntys Haus, BLAQ LYTE, Smile Club, Dudesweet and Rap from Thailand, 40s & Shorties from Los Angeles, OKOKOK from Hong Kong, Yeti from Shanghai and Cashmerepullover from Japan. Last but certainly not least, shoppers have the opportunity to customise designs through a wide range of techniques, materials and design ideas (on through Feb 9).
