Amsterdam-based British designer Melanie Brown has truly found her niche in fashion, creating contemporary rainwear for a female demographic with urban cycling in their daily routine. To celebrate her brand BYBROWN‘s fifth anniversary, she has shaken up matters, revealing a striking new logo and campaign shots concocted by creative director Sofie Spindler and her team which comprises of Berlin-based creative multitasker Vladmir Llovet Casademont, stylist Imruh Asha and lensman Pawel Pysz. Simultaneously, Brown launched her new WAVE and SPIRIT coats which feature in the photographs. Tailored and featuring padded lining, the garments are made from technically advanced sustainable materials, the designs steer clear from the usual boxy silhouette, and instead follow the female shape, lending a hint of modern elegance to an otherwise merely functional garment. Mind you, the celebration of the rebranding and new coats coincides with the brand’s fifth anniversary, and therefore a BYBROWN FIVE pop-up store has opened in the Dutch capital’s Canal District where the two new coats and other models are readily available. Should you reside elsewhere, no worries, the coats can also be conveniently purchased online (complimentary shipping on all orders).

Just to be clear – superfuture® is a design blog and not a political commentator. No surprise there. The scope of our content has always been global and borderless, however that can often mean covering projects in countries where we will not agree with the politics or actions of those countries. In a world that’s as screwed up as ever right now, the focus of our support is to those designers, architects and other creatives who aim to make the world a more liveable one – as opposed to people that try their hardest to destroy it. So if a project hits our desk and we like it based on its design credentials, we may choose to publish regardless of its location or creators nationality. superfuture® has always been inclusive and hopes for all current wars, aggression, violence, hate and extremism to end.
