At this season’s edition of Pitti Uomo, it was Givenchy‘s time to shine. Clare Waight Keller, the British-born designer who helms the French fashion house, was invited to the influential event in Florence as guest designer and presented Givenchy‘s S/S 2020 Men’s Collection. The show was held at the lush gardens of Villa Palmieri, an ornate 13th century villa on the northern outskirts of town. A distinct elegance, a trademark of the fashion house instigated by founder Hubert de Givenchy, is translated in a series of modern silhouettes, but is explicitly visible in a range of tailored looks (read: sharply cut suits and coats). Complementing the formal pieces are streetwear-inspired designs crafted from nifty fabrics which make them compatible to combine. Interestingly, Givenchy also demonstrated its acute awareness of streetwear’s significance in today’s luxury menswear. and launched a collab with Japanese sneaker brand Onitsuka Tiger along the way. Shown here are eight looks from Givenchy‘s S/S 2020 Men’s Collection that we particularly like. Location: Villa Palmieri, Via Giovanni Boccaccio (Fiesole).
