With air travel becoming such an integral part of modern lifestyle, today’s airports have transformed into multifunctional hubs where beside the obvious functionality in many forms, elements such as retail, entertainment and recreation are blended in. Singapore‘s acclaimed Changi Airport isn’t just one of the planet’s major hubs, but also ranks as one of the most revered among passengers, and it goes to great lengths to maintain that enviable position. The recent opening of Jewel, a spectacular mall extension of Terminal 1, is indicative of the airport’s ambition. And while the already iconic seven-storey indoor waterfall and surrounding  tropical park draw most of the attention, Jewel also comes with plenty of shopping options.

One of the 280 retail and hospitality spaces that has opened its doors on the premises is sportswear store Durasport. Designed by architecture practice Ministry of Design, the futuristic settings aim to appeal to sports enthusiasts, and sees fixtures and wall panels of shiny stainless steel. A flexible display system consisting of shelves and brackets that can be clipped or clipped into a notched display wall. The shop façade consists of a steel frame and a herringbone pattern that points to the central entrance, conveying a sense of movement. The X symbol as a sign was used to represent the catalyst at the beginning of any experiment, reminiscent of the two arrows coming together, like the X at the entrance to the store.

The products sold iat Durasport are jointly planned by the design department and customers, including the world’s first graphene bicycle from Dassi, the world’s lightest folding bicycle from Hummingbird, and the Italian brand DL Killer. Swimming fans will be enticed by the fact that the store is equipped with a wetsuit made by the British brand Zone3 which minimizes stretch resistance and maximizes flexibility. Additionally, they can Ameo‘s improved snorkeling or powered breathing apparatus. For ski fanatics, Italian company Dynafit has introduced adjustable alpine ski boots that can flexibly climb uphill and provide rigidity for downhill skiing.
