Fashion may be a tough act to follow, embracing new trends every season, but luckily there’s an irreverent refuge called denim. At Acne Studios, they’ve put an extra spin on this season’s Blå Konst denim collection. Taking cues from workwear and 1990s Americana archetypes, it features iconic 1996 and 1997 jeans in a variety of colours and washes, in addition to a range of new patchwork styles made of upcycled denim. The latter are at the heart of the denim range, offering classic fits that recreate the first jeans ever created by the Swedish brand. The models come in a wide variety of washes, including pink, deep black, soft black, dark, mid and light blue, marble blue, and also a vintage patch. The new denim jackets, similarly recreating original Acne Studios versions, include the 1998 for men and the 1999 and 2000 for women. Found in the same colours and washes as the jeans, the 1998 is a classic hip length denim jacket with relaxed shoulders, while the 1999 is slightly cropped with a boxy body and the 2000 is a longer style with soft shoulders and welt pockets at the sides. Varsity jackets, a patchwork t-shirt dress, raglan hoodies and a bucket hat round out the reused denim range, with details such as tonal colour blocking, sporty striped elasticated trims and sewn-on patches. The Acne Studios Blå Konst S/S 2019 Collection is available at Acne Studios boutiques and select depositories across the planet, but can also be purchased online.
