Galerie des Galeries, the in-store gallery space of iconic department store Galeries Lafayette, anticipates the upcoming holiday season with a new series of exhibitions dedicated to storytelling. Artists, designers, architects and creators will succeed each other to create new stories to awaken everyone’s imagination. In the cycle’s inaugurating edition, designers Gaëlle Gabillet and Stéphane Villard of Paris-based design practice GGSV present Demain, le vaisseau chimère, the story of a world transforming under the influence of fantastical entities, and a rather immersive one at that. The designers invited writer and fellow designer Laetitia Paviani to write a special tale, adding their design magic by way of a metaphorical ship – yes, that’s the vaisseau in the show’s title – and a myriad of settings and other props that conjure up a world beyond imagination (on through Jan 13). The exhibition comes with a programme of creative workshops for kids.
