The laid-back and versatile silhouettes of Our Legacy aren’t just appreciated in the Swedish homeland, but also resonate very well with urban crowds far beyond. Following the launch of an outpost in London‘s shopping district of Soho, the retail expansion continues with the opening a boutique in Berlin. The clothing brand has secured a retail space along Tucholskystrasse, a quiet thoroughfare in the city’s Mitte neighbourhood, and tapped Stockholm-based architecture practice and longtime collaborator Arrhov Frick to create the store’s interior design. Occupying a sizeable ground floor unit of a five-storey residential structure built in 1905, the boutique’s paired down interior offers a stark contrast from the slightly neo-classical façade.
In compliance with Our Legacy‘s understated design codes, the setting flaunts a raw aesthetic that’s actually softer around the edges when taking a second look. Rows of large windows allow in floods of daylight, lending the austere palette of concrete, steel, acrylic glass and pine additional lustre. Nevertheless, the space comes with ample lighting in the form of rows of tubular lights that dangle from the ceiling, adding a graphic element to the design along the way. The configuration is quite versatile as the space is sparsely furnished, comprising merely functional pieces and decorative elements to achieve an art gallery feel. The new Our Legacy store carries the brand’s full range of men’s and women’s apparel, denim, accessories, bags and eyewear.
