The Acne Studios Blå Konst store opened early last year in Tokyo‘s Shibuya district, and as its name implies, it’s exclusively dedicated to the brand’s revived denim line. But that was yesterday. The two-storey, 70 sqm. (754 sq.ft.) retail space right next to the tracks of the busy Yamanote railway line has been fully revamped to exclusively present products from Acne Studios‘ collab with Swedish outdoor brand Fjällräven. The new interior, concocted by the Acne Studios in-house design team, features pristine white walls – downstairs however, the railway side wall is dipped in a deep green – paired with off-white carpeting and a backlit grid ceiling. Furnishings are sparse and comprise of steel clothing racks and mirrors on wheels, in addition to monolithic wooden display. Acne Studios‘ creative director Jonny Johansson has picked some Fjällräven‘s most iconic items and tweaked them to his liking, including down jackets, t-shirts printed with Swedish mountain scenery, pants and a wide range of accessories.

Publishers Note
Just to be clear – superfuture® is a design blog and not a political commentator. No surprise there. The scope of our content has always been global and borderless, however that can often mean covering projects in countries where we will not agree with the politics or actions of those countries. In a world that’s as screwed up as ever right now, the focus of our support is to those designers, architects and other creatives who aim to make the world a more liveable one – as opposed to people that try their hardest to destroy it. So if a project hits our desk and we like it based on its design credentials, we may choose to publish regardless of its location or creators nationality. superfuture® has always been inclusive and hopes for all current wars, aggression, violence, hate and extremism to end.
