Launched late last year by fashion veteran Reuben Billingham, the first collection of London-based menswear label Anglozine has gained the limelight by way of an installation at the Nitty Gritty, a men’s boutique in Stockholm that’s revered by savvy consumers across Europe and beyond. The brand name stems from fanzines and the spirit they provoke, referencing a specific scene and lifestyle that comes with it. Designed in the U.K. and manufactured in Italy, the collections will takes subtle cues from the British capital’s subcultural riches, pairing these elements with quality fabrics, a sharp eye for detailing, and last but not least, a comfortable fit. Anglozine‘s inaugural collection is inspired by the musings of Cappuccino Kids, the elusive raconteur who graced the sleeves of many a record of The Style Council in the years 1985-1987. Billingham’s effort has resulted in a contemporary collection with a distinct retro touch, and includes outerwear, knitwear, t-shirts and accessories. The Anglozine collection is initially stocked by Nitty Gritty, but also hit the shelves of the Aberdeen-based Hanon store. Location: Nitty Gritty, Krukmakargatan 26 (Södermalm).
