Following standalone stores in Knightsbridge and Westfield shopping centre in Shepherd’s Bush, Italian fashion house Versace has raised its profile in London by opening an additional flagship store on one of the city’s most prestigious shopping arteries. Situated on the corner of New Bond Street, the Versace flagship store occupies over 300 sqm. (3,229 sq.ft.) set across three floors of a landmark structure built in 1899. Designed following the sustainable store concept created by architect Gwenaël Nicolas of Tokyo-based practice Curiosity, and first revealed at the opening of the brand’s Miami boutique two years ago, the chosen aesthetic is distinctly contemporary and unapologetically lavish. White Venus marble shop windows enhance the display of the latest arrivals. The sheer diversity of the various Versace collections are juxtaposed with neutral tones of the store interior. The various settings, featuring marble counters, glass shelving and golden metal finishings are framed by custom eucalyptus wood flooring, whitewashed walls and a ceiling adorned with a black stripe graphic pattern. As said, it’s a sustainable store, and as such, it has been designed with the highest sustainability standards in mind, from the choice of materials used to the flexibility and management of the stores. The new Versace flagship store carries the brand’s men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, accessories and shoes, in addition to watches and jewellery, eyewear, fragrances and home textiles.
