Sneaker emporium LIKELIHOOD first set up shop in Seattle in 2015, and now, almost a decade later, the retailer has added an alluring second outpost in South Lake Union, a downtown area which has seen hugely increased gentrification the past two decades. Co-founded by Aaron DelGuzzo and Daniel Carlson, the LIKELIHOOD store quickly became a reference point for savvy and discerning locals. The company’s new store bears testament to the duo’s unwavering enthusiasm for their trade, and the design-led premises are one way of signalling just that. Situated only a stone’s throw away from the well-known architectural landmark and workspace The Spheres, the store occupies a 3,000 sq.ft. (279 sqm.) corner unit on the ground floor of a glittering high-rise office building.

The interior design, created by local architecture practice Heliotrope, takes cues from an art gallery, and it’s one that’s anchored by monumental, 36-feet (11 metres) trapezoidal display. Combined with an understated backdrop of whitewashed walls and matching shelving, polished concrete flooring, mirrored dressing rooms, and a ceiling of large, elongated cloud lights, the setting make the colourful merchandise on display effortlessly pop. Additional furnishings have been crafted by local artists, such as a white oak bench, jewellery cabinets in matching fir wood, and vibrant abstract paintings by Seattle-based artist Brian Sanchez. The new LIKELIHOOD store stocks sneakers, apparel, accessories and fragrances by a curated range if leading brands, including On, Homme Plissé ISSEY MIYAKE, New Balance, Marni, Nike, UNDERCOVER and Saucony.
