The revitalisation of Atlanta‘s historic Old Fourth Ward, a neighbourhood east of its better known Downtown area, is in full swing, and as of late, it has gained a brand new hospitality landmark. The newly opened FORTH hotel, a collaborative effort of local developer New City Properties and Philadelphia-based hospitality company Method Co., is housed in a striking building by Morris Adjmi Architects. The boutique property features 196 guest rooms and suites, in addition to 39 residential suites and studio apartments, all across 16 floors. Designed by the aforementioned architecture practice, in collaboration with Method Studios, an in-house design entity at Method Co., the chosen aesthetic blends contemporary European design with early Americana traditions.

Handmade wooden furniture, layered fabrics and textures, vintage pieces, and curated objects all imbue the hotel with an instant sense of place and an air of craftsmanship. Each guest room oozes a welcoming atmosphere, and comes with floor-to-ceiling windows offering sweeping skyline views, handmade wooden furniture, custom wallpaper, and thoughtfully curated decor. For those in need of extra pampering, FORTH‘s spacious, 633 sq.ft. (59 sqm.) Terrace King Suite with a private outdoor space is readily available. Obviously, the set of amenities meet all requirements of today’s savvy traveller, and includes comfy king size or queen size beds with top quality Bellino linen, complimentary WiFi, a smart TV, robes, Revo bluetooth speakers, daily housekeeping, and Le Labo toiletries.

Planning to stay longer in town? The residential suites come with separate living spaces, oak flooring, and custom furniture, and feature the service and design of a boutique hotel with full-size appliances, washers and dryers. Adding to the neighbourhoods ongoing revitalisation, FORTH boasts a number of facilities which effortlessly make it a meeting place of choice for cuisine, creativity and socialising. Helmed by executive chef Jonathan McDowell, the ground floor Elektra restaurant, which has an outdoor terrace next to the pool, serves tasty dishes from around the Mediterranean, paired with wines, cocktails and other beverages of choice. Bar Premio is a day or night pitstop for coffee or wine, in addition to a selection of pastries and charcuteries. And that’s not all.

Opening very soon at FORTH are two additional alluring spots—the Moonlight rooftop lounge, and Il Premio, a rustic Italian steakhouse. Nestled firmly in the neighbourhood, FORTH actively engages in fostering a community, and it does so with ‘flourishing’, a research-supported model for wellbeing and getting the most out of life. A 20,000 sq.ft. 91,858 sqm.) gym with state-of-the-art equipment offers various training programmes, while a sauna room and spa, which features a full range of wellness treatments, provide soothing relaxation and pampering. And let’s not forget the aforementioned outdoor swimming pool which goes both ways—you choose to make laps or take it slow and jump in just for the fun of it. © superfuture
