Since its inception in 1988, fashion brand ZUCCa has been a fixture in Japan‘s fashion landscape, operating a string of stores nationwide and also abroad. As of late ZUCCa opened a third outpost in Tokyo on the premises of Tobu department store in the city’s Ikebukuro district. Perched on the third floor, flanked by the retail spaces of Japanese and foreign premium brands such as agnès b., A.P.C. and DRESSTERIOR, the shop-in-shop measures 123 sqm. (1,324 sq.ft.) and features an interior design by Moment, a local architecture and design practice. Although divided by a small corridor, the shop-in-shop is designed to look like two long, horizontal enclaves united, and this is visually anchored by large wooden blocks lined up in a row. The blocks are seemingly stacked in a staggered manner, adding a subtle yet playful element to the linear setting, and which matches well with ZUCCa‘s youthful brand image. The displays are visually aligned, featuring matching block shapes. The new ZUCCa shop-in-shop carries women’s and men’s apparel, accessories and handbags. © superfuture
