Founded in 2019, womenswear brand Fashion Rebels targets the cultured and fashion-savvy woman about town, offering classic silhouettes with a distinct contemporary twist. Following a the inauguration of a boutique on ulitsa Petrovka, smack in the middle of Moscow, the company has recently expanded with a second outpost at Okeania, a large shopping centre in the city’s suburban Fili-Davydkovo area of town. Occupying a lofty unit on the second floor, the store features an interior design by local interior design practice Sinitsa Buro. The retail space is flanked by an array of premium homegrown brands, and as such, the interior design had to be distinctive while also an extrapolation of Fashion Rebels‘ brand values. Interestingly, ample cues were also taken from the work of renowned Milan-based architecture and design practice Dimore Studio.

The result is a clean and understated space plastered in off-white with accents in a contrasting yet sensual deep red hue, captured by a façade which beckons shoppers from afar, and the shop’s main furnishings, a large display table and sales counter, a comfy sofa, and specific fixtures. The latter pieces, in addition to some other elements, boast rounded corners, creating a subtle visual contrast with the elements that have angular features. Whimsical elements, notably the red ball in that divides the façade column in two and a fractured decorative pole, add a certain lightness to the setting. The floor is clad in large porcelain stoneware tiles, and specifically for the fitting rooms, inspired by the work of Italian architect and designer Carlo Scarpa, the material was meticulously cut into pieces and laid with a spacing to create a carpet. The new Fashion Rebels store carries the brand’s full range of apparel, accessories and jewellery. © superfuture
