Affordable home goods store Goodies has stepped up its retail presence in the sprawling megalopolis that is Los Angeles with a new shop in Long Beach. Founded in 2017 by young entrepreneur Rhea Carlisle, the retailer has become known for its stylish contemporary merchandise, offering a wide range of items, and each costing no more than USD 25. Needless to say, Goodies has shaken up the local market and has quickly expanded its network of stores. Occupying an 800 sq.ft. (74 sqm.) unit, the retail space features an interior design by Los Angeles-based architecture and interior design practice and longtime collaborator Sheft Farrace. Dipped in the Goodies‘ signature marigold hue, the setting is understated, practical, but also sophisticated, thanks to beautifully crafted cabinets, shelving, displays and panels, all in light timber. Two sizeable displays take centre stage, and quite literally so, flanked on one side by cabinets and tiered shelving laden with home trophies, while the other side is covered in panels. At the far end, situated below an arch, sits a sales counter and storage cabinets. The understated design is somewhat counterbalanced by an exposed ceiling which is punctuated by a constellation of suspended lamps, all in a matching marigold shade. The chosen aesthetic intentionally sets the stage for captivating social media content that doubles as seamless advertising. As such, Goodies‘ physical space integrates with its online presence. The new Goodies store stocks the brand’s full range of home goods. © superfuture.com
