Indeed, what’s in a name? Despite its remarkable name, women’s fashion brand Pervert churns out pretty decent collections that resonate well with a young, trend-conscious demographic. Taking its operations to a new level, the company has recently inaugurated its first standalone retail space at Tsvetnoy shopping centre in the leafy Tverskaya district in downtown Moscow. The store is quite compact, measuring a mere 25 sqm. (269 sq.ft.), but what it may lack in space, it makes up with a Brutalist interior design by architects Stanislav Kozeen and Marcelo Rueda of architecture practice KOZEEN + RUEDA. Needless to say, the lay-out is very functional with a matching set of furnishings which are situated along the central axes of a square plan. Taking centre stage is a large platform of sorts, constructed from large concrete bricks, a metal frame and glass, and on which things can be showcased. It’s flanked by a sofa on one side, and a cabinet on the other side. The latter is crafted from a metal frame and isolation boards which are also used to create shelving and apparel display units that demarcate two sides of the Pervert shop. The materials have been applied as such to intentionally appear raw and untreated. The new Pervert store stocks a curated range of women’s apparel and accessories.
